About Me

My name is Yue Liu, a lifestyle and fine art photographer based in Halifax. But I never step behind the lens alone.

Tang Hong Photography is named after my late husband. He was my partner in life, and today, he remains my silent partner in every frame I capture. This studio is a tribute to our shared love for beauty and the belief that a single moment can hold an eternity. When I pick up my camera, I feel our combined strength, guiding me to see the world with more empathy and depth.

My love for photography was born within my own family. They taught me to notice the small, honest connections that make life meaningful, and they remain my constant inspiration.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the most beautiful moments are rarely posed. They happen in the “in-between” — a quiet glance, a soft touch, a burst of laughter, or the way a child leans into someone they trust. These are the moments I am committed to preserving.

My approach is gentle, patient, and child-led. Whether we are in my Halifax studio or exploring your favorite outdoor space along the Nova Scotia coast, I want our session to feel like a slow, joyful pause in the middle of everyday life. I provide a relaxed environment where you can simply be yourselves, while I use light as my brush to paint your story.

As Ansel Adams beautifully said:

You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.

Every image we create carries emotion, memory, and meaning – it’s the reflection of a life lived.

Beyond the lens, I enjoy sharing the stories and inspirations that shape my work. You might like to read about “The Story Behind My Logo” and more over on my [Blog].

Dedicated to Tang Hong — my life partner, my silent partner.
